Vekla Detailed Size Guide

With the pre-order now open, it is time to take a closer look at the sizing of our sneakers, and help you find your perfect size. First, let's explore some of the fitting characteristics before we dive into determining the actual size. You will see that it actually is very easy!

The Vekla sneaker last is the result of close collaboration between the Italian factory where the sneakers are produced and the amazingly talented people at Spring Line, the only remaining last maker in the United Kingdom. With years of experience under their belt, our lastmakers were able to create a last that perfectly balances both science and art. The result is a last that is undoubtedly our own, but with the fitting characteristics of a standard foot.

Vekla Sneaker Last

The sneaker last features a well clipped heel, low profile and elegant toebox, perfect for our collection of handsome sneakers. Yet in terms of fit, the sizing is kept in line with the standard European sizing system. I have assembled in this guide instructions on how to do determine your size, comparative to some of the largest and most well known brands in the industry. A simple conversion is all that it takes.

Please know that, should your sneakers end up not fitting, exchange returns are free for all orders placed within the EU, and we do not charge extra shipping for worldwide exchange orders.

If you are a customer at Sons of Henrey:

If you are a customer of our Goodyear welted shoe brand, Sons of Henrey, the sizing advise is to take your same size, converted to European sizing.  The conversion table is shown below:

Vekla 40 40 41 41 42 42 43 43 44 44 45 45
Sons of Henrey (UK) 6 6.5 7 7.5 8 8.5 9 9.5 10 10.5 11 11.5

If you are a customer of other brands of Goodyear welted shoes:

The same is true for when you wear other brands of Goodyear welted shoes. We advise you to take the same size, or size down half a size, from your regular UK size.

If you wear trainers or running shoes mostly:

Trainers or running shoes, from brands such as Nike, Adidas or New Balance, run notoriously small. Many people need to size up at least a size in these brands, sometimes even more.  It is advised to go a full size lower than your usual size.

If you own shoes with a Margom rubber sole, such as Common Projects or CQP sneakers:

Vekla shoes use the same rubber outsole as Common Projects and CQP sneakers. When you compare your size with these brands, please know that it is very important that you compare it with a recent purchase. For instance, Common Projects changed the fit of their shoes recently to be more true to size, and Oliver Cabell only recently made the switch to full Margom soles.
